About Us

I formed Velvet Ensemble in 2008 following a trip to America where I discovered a strong and successful Women’s Theatre scene. As a professional Actress I am all too aware of the lack of roles for women across theatre, tv and film, so I was thrilled to discover companies committed to producing theatre about women, by women, for women. My vision for Velvet Ensemble is to produce exciting, thought provoking, accessible theatre which celebrates and gives voice to the female experience both past and present. By working with a range of directors and styles, with the objective of clear storytelling at the heart of all our work, we seek to create theatre about women, for everyone.
